The Byron Tigers hosted Rockford East Monday in their season opener.
The match started out with Byron testing East’s defense and created some very good chances.
With goals from freshman Lilley Wheeler and sophomore Brooklyn Kilduff in the first half, Byron appeared to be in good shape. But East made a couple critical adjustments at half, helping the team to become more competitive. East generated several very good chances and scored a goal late to at least tie the second half, matching Brooklyn Kilduff’s second goal.
